Mar 25, 2005 - It is now official - guitarist Lon Doherty has left the band to pursue his career as a visual artist. We wish him the best and he will be missed. Please visit his website at www.lonnydoherty.com to see what a talented artist he is.

You may be wondering what this means for the band. We are going to continue as a four piece outfit. Jer has traded in his acoustic and strapped on the electric guitar. It immediately went to his head and he has been striking some remarkable guitar poses!

Our favourite indie band brothers (and one sister) State of Blake are recording a new record right now, so we have a studio set up in our shared band space. The plan is to demo the dozen or so songs we have in various stages of completion and also record a bunch of acoustic tracks both Jer and myself have written. We are taking a short break from performing to re-invent things - I won't go into detail but it involves a bunch of boring gear-related stuff.

When we come back we will be better than ever. A couple of practices with the new arrangements and the energy of the new songs has the band filled with excitement we haven't felt since the days when we had just started. We will most likely have a new release as well before the end of the year. As we progress with the new material we willl be posting some demos to the audio section of the site and would love to hear feeedback from you (constructive criticism please - this means you Hamilton). As always you can email me at ryan@theashgrove.com or the band at info@theashgrove.com. See you soon. Love, Ryan and the rest of the ashgrove.
